Motion design and Cam development as service provision

The modular set-up of our services contains a broad customer-oriented offer Counselling, Design, Calculation and Production.
Select the individual modules or a complete solution from our stock.

Counselling

  • Joint search for an optimal drive concept for your machine
  • Discussion of constructional peculiarities for cam drives

Design

  • Motion design on your working organ
  • Selection of the motion functions depending on your requirements
    (Harmonious movements, less-oscillating, noise-optimised, ...)
  • Collision control of several movements

Calculation

  • Determination of main dimensions
  • Verification of geometric feasibility
  • Normal drive and output burden from your masses and forces
  • Selection of the roller depending on the required service life
  • Documentation of the calculation for your archives
  • Coordinates of the roller/cam tracks for your production
  • Production-conforming drawing for our production

Optimisation

  • Verification and re-calculation of the motion sequences and cam drives
for the performance optimisation of existing systems

Experience

  • Since approx. 1970, computer-backed motion design and development of cams
  • Motion design and cam solutions in the various sectors

Functions of motion

  • Of course, VDI-Guidelines 2143
  • In-house developments building up on VDI 2143
  • In-house developments for less oscillating motion sequences
  • Spline functions

Software

  • In-house development by our cam specialists with constant follow-up developments
  • Adjustment to new cam standards
  • Linked to CAD issuing the cam profiles on CAD standard formats

Reverse gear (movement: linear - rotating - linear)

e.g. for:

Linear extraction of a component - followed by 180° rotation - linear placement of the component on the product.

Linear stroke generated via a crank. A roller runs inside the crank triggering a 90° rotation of the internal component.

Synchronisation of 2 linear movements

For a conveyor belt cycled by an index drive a slide is moved over a distance synchronously to the moving belt by means of the synchronously driven disc cam. The parts located on the slide thereby remain longer at the same cycle as the belt, and machining operations can be performed on the cycled parts during the movement.

"Floating shears"

A continuously running section shall be cut into defined formats. To achieve this, the cutting device must have the same horizontal traversing speed during the cutting process to ensure that no relative movement to the section occurs.

Reverse gear (movement: linear - rotating - linear)

A cam segment is moved back and forth in linear direction. By rolling off stationary fastened rollers, the segment is temporarily offset around its own axis.

Overlaid 2-axis movement driven via a thrust crank drive - used, e.g. in a removal device- product is first removed in linear fashion - is then turned (in this case 90°) moved linear and deposited.

Syncronisation of 2 linear movements

Groove cam to generate synchronisation between two different movements.

"Floating shears"

A continuously running section shall be cut into defined formats. To achieve this, the cutting device must have the same horizontal traversing speed during the cutting process to ensure that no relative movement to the section occurs.

Reverse gear (movement: linear - rotating - linear)

Lid is taken off the stack, rotated by 180°, placed on cup and welded.

Link

Linear removal from a fixture - swivel and re-insert / deposit.

Synchronisation of 2 linear movements

Revolving work station over several work cycles. Driven by a central drive.
